What rocks your bliss?
What rocks my bliss is pursuing my #1 Core Value of Adventure. A couple of years ago, I got really clear on my Top 5 Core Values, and since then, have been consciously making an effort to nourish them. I am my most fully expressed, authentic self when I am on an awesome adventure. Recently, that looked like a 2 and a half week trip to India for a yoga retreat with Andrea Marcum and then an exploration of the Golden Triangle with my husband. But adventure for me doesn't always look like a trip to a distant land. Every day I seek out adventure in my own city of Las Vegas--whether it's trying a new restaurant, spontaneously seeing a concert last minute, or experimenting with a new workout.
Describe your perfect day.
My husband and I live on the Las Vegas Strip and WE LOVE IT! We love the little community we have built for ourselves here in one of the busiest places on Earth. My perfect day starts with a walk through the Monte Carlo to my favorite coffee shop, Sambalatte, to see my barista friends and grab my daily cappuccino. I'll then get my sweat on with some pilates at Studio Remixx or The Pilates Studio before I head back to the Aria for a relaxing day at the spa. My Hubs and I love great food and entertainment, so we'd cap off the night with a dinner at China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan, followed by a fabulous show (La Reve and Absinthe are our faves!), and then Tiki drinks at our local Tiki Bar, The Golden Tiki.
When do you feel most creative and alive?
I feel most creative and alive when I am meeting new people. The Core Value of Connection goes hand in hand with my Core Value of Adventure. When I'm connecting with people, whether it is on a house boat in the backwaters of India, on my yoga mat, or at a staff meeting with my teams, I feel alive and full of energy. When I'm traveling, I love exploring different cultures and talking to the local people about their lives, beliefs, and values. At the end of the day, travel and connection have shown me how much we as humans have in common, and a common ground is one of the best ways to unify and promote peace.
Share a huge goal you are rocking.
After being recently promoted to the role of Regional Manager at lululemon, I have declared that I will be an Area Director in Asia and living in Mumbai by 2019!
If you could get on a plane right now, where are you going?
India FOR SURE! You can probably tell that I fell in LOVE with India this year and cannot wait to go back. It's a massive country and I haven't even begun to see all of its many wonders. I'm going to head back next year and do even more exploring in the North, and I'm also eager to get to the Himalayas and Nepal.
How do you handle setbacks?
I used to always handle setbacks with tears. Now I'm in the practice of slowing down and breathing. My time at lululemon has taught me so much around the power of choice in every moment. Rather than reacting to setbacks, I try my best to respond, and for me, that means taking some time to let my emotions level out, taking some deep breathes, possibly having a good nights rest, and then tackling the setback with a fresh perspective and clear mind and heart.
How do you come home to yourself?
I listen to music. Music allows me to be in the present moment and gives me a burst of energy. To center myself and get present, I'll pick the grocery store that is farthest away so that I can take a nice long drive, blast my Justin Bieber in my car, and sing along at the top of my lungs.
What are 3 ways you rock the self LOVE?
A fresh blowout at Drybar. A 90 minute massage. A sweaty SoulCycle class.
