What rocks your bliss?
Unexpected authentic connection- when I find myself in conversation with a stranger, the world begins to expand and the sense that we are all connected fills me with pure joy. It can even be as small as eye contact and a smile. Nothing has to be said- just one look that says 'I see you' and my day is made.
Describe your perfect day.
Sundays are my favorite day of the week because I take off work completely and avoid the car if I can help it. I wake up with my internal alarm clock feeling spacious and un-pressured. I make my bed, fix myself some eggs, and sit on my back porch to write and take in the morning. I walk to the farmers market, stopping to say hello to my favorite vendors and stock up on veggies and fresh flowers for the week. I walk home, unpack my loot, and head up to my roof with my yoga mat to soak up some sun, read (I am always reading something!) and do a creative non-structured flow...just letting my body tell me what it needs. I head downstairs to shower, I put on my most comfortable, flowy, no-undergarments-required dress, and head over to a friends place for a catch up. We walk to my favorite churro spot for Minty Coffee and warm delicious churro goodness. I head home early, fix myself a veggie filled dinner, watch an episode of a show while I eat, and then turn off the electronics for the night. I finish my day on the roof, saying goodnight to Los Angeles and the moon. I tuck into bed, reading until my eyes start to droop, and then fall asleep feeling full of gratitude for the lucky life I live.
When do you feel most creative and alive?
When I'm cooking or I'm teaching one of my classes at Speedplay- I thrive off the energy of my clients, pushing themselves to get stronger while honoring what's real and present for their bodies, as my favorite songs beat away in their ears.
Share a huge goal you are rocking.
Practicing self-fulfillment- it's a practice every day to choose to love myself and to see my life as full and lacking nothing. Some days are better than others, but I have reached a point where I have less days where it's hard to choose myself or I feel like something is missing.
If you could get on a plane right now, where are you going?
Greece. I want to sit by the blue ocean eating olives and drinking wine and waving to fisherman sailing by.
How do you handle setbacks?
I give myself permission to lean into the disappointment but not sink into it. Feel it. Then move on. I process my feelings through writing, and maybe talk it through with a friend, and then I get into action around what to do to move forward.
How do you come home to yourself?
Stillness and silence. I get still and quiet and ask myself questions about who I am and what I want and need. I almost always know the answers within myself and if I don't the universe helps me answer them
What are 3 ways you rock the self LOVE?
Get a manicure, put myself through a killer workout to remind myself how freaking strong I am, and dress up and go out for a night of dancing with my girlfriends.
