Meet Alex Weber, the Founder and Coach at True North Life Design, high vibe coaching for modern free spirits. Alex is on a mission to share acceptance, peace and possibility. Read on about her bliss...

What rocks your bliss?

Empowering and inspiring women to connect with their inner wisdom, something I like to call True North, and witnessing the radical changes that occur when women start living a connected life, totally rocks my bliss! I love it when someone’s eyes light up and sparkle when they realize their big dreams are sooooo possible. But when I’m not coaching, writing or speaking, my bliss gets rocked from: belly laughter (the kind that makes you cry!),  dancing with my girl tribe, cooking a delicious, fresh meal from scratch, hiking with my big golden retriever and boyfriend, plotting new adventures and lazy afternoons spent reading in coffee shops.

Describe your perfect day.

I wake up oceanside somewhere hot and beautiful to watch the sunrise, then I spend about 30 minutes meditating and connecting with my spirit. My guy joins me on the beach for a yoga flow followed by a refreshing dip in the ocean. Then we enjoy a long, healthy breakfast at a cool beachside cafe. I spend my late morning and early afternoon writing and coaching. Then take a book down to the beach to either read, journal or paint. After a while I head home to freshen up for dinner. I take a long, hot shower and get glammed up. My guy and I head over to a delicious local restaurant for happy hour and dinner with a big group of friends and family. We spend the evening laughing, eating and catching up with the people we love the most!

Share a huge goal you are rocking.

I launched my business, True North Life Design at the beginning of 2015. It was a whirlwind of a year. Lots of ups and downs with big, big lessons learned. My goal for this year is to grow my coaching company authentically and in a way that is in alignment with my values. It can be all too easy to lose sight of what’s important when chasing down a big dream. So 2016 is all about expanding outward while getting even more centered and rooted in who I am and what I’m here to do.

If you could get on a plane right now, where are you going?

India! It’s been on my to-go list for ages. I’ve always been a deeply spiritual person so I’m very drawn to the wisdom and colorful culture that exists there. I’m also dying to check out Chile and Peru! My boyfriend and I fell in love with South America while in Argentina last year and I’m just itching to get back and explore all of the exotic nature there.

How do you handle setbacks?

I’ve learned to love setbacks. I’ve found that the more I embrace and accept what’s going on in my life, no matter how difficult, the faster I’ll get through it and the wiser I’ll become. I really believe that every setback holds deep and powerful lessons we NEED to learn in order to move forward. So I always get real with myself and ask: what is this here to teach me? Oprah taught me that one.

Then I slow right down so I can pay attention to and absorb the lessons I need to understand. I make sure to take exceptional care of myself! Lots of baths, long walks and meditations. I give myself space. Everytime I’ve tried to “force” or “work” my way out of a jam it’s backfired in my face. So now I trust that the answers will come when the time is right as long as I am connected to my True North and  listening closely to my intuition.

I also don’t obsess over setbacks or view them as negative. They’re teachers. And they’re necessary steps on the road to success.

3 ways you rock the self LOVE.

  1. I strive to be my biggest cheerleader! I spent way too long in the “I’m Not Good Enough Club,” and now that I’m free, I like to remind myself “I am enough” on a regular basis. I’ve done a lot of inner work on my mindset and beliefs and as a result have totally liberated myself (for the most part) from the low-vibe thoughts that tend to keep us feeling small. I speak kindly and compassionately to myself always. And when things go wrong, I’m even nicer.

  2. I give myself permission to play, every day! Whether it’s a refreshing hike or hosting a girls night, I strive to play every. single. day. because FUN is one of my core values. I don’t feel guilty about this. To me, life is meant to be joyful and exciting. As a result of consciously creating space for fun in my life, I feel healthier, inspired, creative and attract amazing opportunities into my life.

  3. I make “me-time” non-negotiable! Sometimes I just love to curl up in a cafe with a book and a cappuccino or spend an hour soaking in a salt bath or taking a drive down to the lake. These things aren’t “productive” but they charge my batteries and leave me feeling divine. So I make sure to have a little “me-time” every day and a lot more on weekends.
