Nicole Reed

This week, meet Nicole Reed, founder and creative mastermind of Lincoln & Rose. A true stand for creative goals, community and entrepreneurship, Nicole is a believer in 'love thy neighbor' and a major cat lady. Always smiling, always writing and always devising new plans to elevate the game in her community, Nicole is a blisscrafter through and through and Venice Beach is lucky to have her!

Describe your perfect day.

A slow, early morning with good coffee and music. A great blowout with no frizz. An hour-plus, heart-to-heart phone chat with someone I miss. Sharing lipgloss with my niece. Family dinner with Mom's spaghetti. A hot pink sunset. Snuggling down with the ones I love. Being next to my guy when we hear Lou Reed's "Perfect Day."

Share a huge goal you are rocking.

The Lincoln & Rose Pop-Up Shop. (Come visit us!) My husband Jeremy and I started a blog about Venice art and lifestyle about a year and a half ago and named it after the intersection closest to where we live, Lincoln & Rose. As it evolved, we talked about taking the experience offline with community events. A few weeks ago, an opportunity came our way to open a holiday pop-up gift shop – at the corner of Lincoln & Rose. It was strangely serendipitous how it all manifested so quickly, and now here we are through the end of December hosting events, sharing stories about artists, meeting new neighbors and making new friends.

If you could get on a plane right now, where are you going?

It would be a car, and we'd be heading up the coast to Big Sur for a wintry escape to a cabin overlooking the bluffs with a wood burning fireplace, a soak tub with a view of the pines, and a mini fridge stocked with cheeses, wine and chocolate. We'd be in post-pop-up, post-holiday hibernation mode.

How do you handle setbacks?

Just keep going. Be consistent, get smarter and keep moving forward. There's a great line I picked up as a kid watching a Sunday night Disney movie, "The Richest Cat In The World." In it was a wise and wealthy talking cat named Leo who said, "Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, it's much too hard." Words to live by, and I do. Thanks Leo.

3 ways you rock the self LOVE, go:

1) Taking the long way home when I drive down to San Pedro so I can see the cliffs. 2) Beauty treats and bar method. 3) Girls night out.
